Hulbert Children's Center Now Open in Fargo

Hulbert Children’s Center is now open, creating a new space in Fargo dedicated to supporting the mental, emotional, and developmental needs of children and families through compassionate, Christ-centered care.

A Mission Rooted in Faith and Care

From our earliest days, Valley Christian Counseling & Wellness was founded in response to a simple but urgent question: Where can families go for scripturally sound, professional mental health care?

That question shaped a mission rooted in faith, clinical excellence, and the belief that God created each person as a whole being, body, mind, and spirit. The Hulbert Children’s Center is a continuation of that calling, created specifically to care for children at the moments they need support most.

Earlier Access to Care for Children

We believe early intervention is one of the most powerful tools in children’s mental health.

When concerns are addressed early, children are more likely to heal, grow, and thrive, and families are better supported along the way. The Hulbert Children’s Center was intentionally designed to expand capacity and reduce wait times, helping children receive care sooner rather than later.

We are currently accepting new pediatric clients, with openings available now for children seeking counseling, occupational therapy, and related services.

Designed for Growth, Healing, and Everyday Life

The Hulbert Children’s Center includes 13 counseling and occupational therapy offices, two play therapy rooms, and a children’s chapel, a peaceful space for prayer, reflection, and spiritual grounding.

A fully simulated occupational therapy apartment, known as House of Hope, allows children to practice everyday life skills in a safe and supportive environment. This includes tasks like making a bed, folding laundry, and building routines that promote independence.

At the heart of the center is our Summit Studio, a thoughtfully curated therapy space designed to support movement, regulation, and confidence-building. The studio includes therapeutic swings, ladders, and a climbing wall, offering creative and engaging ways for occupational therapists and counselors to work together while meeting each child where they are developmentally.

Caring for Parents and Families

Caring for children also means caring for parents.

The Still Waters Parent Lounge was created as a place of rest and quiet, offering an intentional pause for parents and caregivers while their children receive services. For some, it may be the only hour in the week to breathe, reflect, and be still.

Throughout the Hulbert Children’s Center, calming design elements such as a bubble wall, green outdoor space, and a sensory garden invite peace and regulation. A large mural by a local artist adds warmth and beauty, reinforcing that this is a space where children are welcomed, valued, and deeply loved.

Hope for Generations

The opening of the Hulbert Children’s Center reflects our broader vision of Hope for Generations. We are committed to stepping into gaps in care and creating spaces that honor the dignity of every child and family, each made in the image of God.

As children’s mental health needs continue to grow, we remain committed to offering timely, Christ-centered care that restores hope, strengthens families, and impacts generations to come.
