Lydia Anderson
Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling
In a world intent on scrutinizing any and every detail of a person, I strive to provide a safe and comfortable space for individuals to be who Christ created them to be without fear of judgement. Being a human can be hard, so my goal in working with clients is to help ease some of the difficulties of life, whether it’s difficulties within oneself, within relationships, or due to circumstances outside of our control. While it’s important to seek to be good stewards of the lives we’ve been granted, it’s even more important to acknowledge that we are redeemed not by our own actions, but by His sacrifice.
Through narrative therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy strategies, attachment theory, and person-centered therapy, I aim to foster a grace-filled space for my clients to better understand themselves and their relationships. Through a non-judgmental and curious perspective, we can explore past experiences and relationships as a way to help explain or give context to current issues or behaviors. Speaking from my own experience as a client, the better we can understand the ‘why’ behind our maladaptive traits/behaviors, the better we can exercise self-grace as we begin to implement positive changes in our lives.
Outside of the office, I enjoy drawing, baking, fishing, reading, listening to and playing music, watching comfort movies/shows, thrifting, going on walks, and spending time with my husband (and our two cats and our dog).
